Sex therapists think that your fantasies of marathon sex romps aren't realistic. They think that "desirable" sex should last from 7 - 13 minutes. As men take about five minutes to orgasm, perhaps the sex therapists are correct.
But what of the fairer sex? The statistics on time to orgasm for women remain elusive. Why? Because most women fake orgasms. (That's not to suggest men are always honest: about 25% of men fake orgasms in an attempt to end the sex without hurting their partner's feelings.)
Obviously, having orgasms are a good thing. In fact, women with a higher frequency of orgasms during intercourse live longer. Although genetics likely play a part in a woman's ability to orgasm, the findings in this study seem to suggest something else is going on. This study is implying that women fake it because of insecurities - does that seem valid? (And, before you write the conclusions off as a man's perspective, it was a woman who led this study.)

Many of these women said they faked it due to their own fear of intimacy; they also reported faking orgasm because they felt insecure about their sexual functioning, or because they want to get it over with.
There was also a small group of participants who did it to enhance their own sexual experience. "This small subset of women who are faking orgasm for the purposes of increasing their own arousal, actually have higher levels of sexual satisfaction," Cooper said. "So, maybe we should not be questioning their strategy; it's one of many tools in their toolboxes for having a positive sexual experience."

I don't remembering ever faking an orgasm. If the guy stinks in bed, I am going to tell him (and I have in the past). I am not sure why women would fake orgasms... maybe to prevent the guy from feeling terrible about how bad he is at making love? Well, then perhaps the guy should work a little harder at it... I would hate if my husband faked an orgasm (but of course, he can't). Anyhow, what a bunch of despicable liars!
