Perhaps it's cliché, but it is said there aren't any second chances in life. Religious beliefs aside, you get one shot at life and that's it. Death is inevitable. There isn't any reset button. It's one chance and game over.

How the end will come, I don't know. Our health could fail due to disease or old age. It might be a fatal accident. All life could be destroyed on Earth by an asteroid or comet as might have happened 250 million years ago. (Even more likely because Republicans voted to repeal an Obama-backed bill that would have destroyed the asteroid. Damn politics destroy everything. But I digress...)

There's an adage that goes "what I do today is important because I am exchanging a day of my life for it." With every moment that passes in life, you might say we have a choice to "live" it or not to live it. Most of us don't consider death on a daily basis. Does the meaning of life change if you know you have only a certain number of days left to live?

What would you do if you knew you only had x number of days to live? Spend time with your family and/or friends? Cheat on your spouse? Do drugs? Continue to go to work? Try to find a way to save your life? Donate everything you own to charity? Murder someone? Not change anything? Can there be such a thing as a "good" or "bad" ending to life? Given what you would do if you only had x number of days to live, should you be making different choices in your life now?
